Ares Genetics (ARES) ist ein Wiener Digital Health Startup, bietet fortschrittliche digitale Lösungen für die Diagnose und Therapie von Infektionskrankheiten. ARES baut auf ARES Technology Platform auf, welche einer patentgeschützten Datenbank über die Genetik antimikrobieller Resistenzen, ARESdb, mit fortgeschrittener Bioinformatik und künstlicher Intelligenz kombiniert. Basierend auf der ARES Technology Platform hat ARES kürzlich die Entwicklung eines Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) basierten Test zur schnellen Diagnose von Infektionskrankheiten und zugehörigen genetischen Antibiogrammen initiiert. Für die Testentwicklung und anfängliche Kommerzialisierung in Europa bereitet ARES derzeit den Aufbau eines Servicelabors für Forschung und Entwicklung sowie diagnostische Dienstleistungen am Standort Wien vor.

Technische/r Assistent/in Klinische Mikrobiologie & Molekulare Analytik (TA) (m/w/d)

für ein unbefristetes Dienstverhältnis in Vollzeit.

In Ihrer Rolle als TA führen Sie unter Anleitung des Labormanagements in einem akkreditierten Umfeld sorgfältig und eigenverantwortlich mikro- und molekularbiologische Probenanalysen von Patientenmaterial durch. Die dadurch erzeugten Ergebnisse fassen Sie zusammen und berichten Sie an das Labormanagement. Weiters tragen Sie mit ihrer motivierten und aufmerksamen Art zur kontinuierlichen Verbesserung unserer Methoden und unseres Qualitätsmanagementsystems bei.

Ihre Aufgaben…

  • Sie züchten Mikroorganismen an und führen Antibiotika-Suszeptibilitäts-Tests durch
  • Sie extrahieren DNA/RNA aus humanem Probenmaterial oder Mikroorganismen
  • Sie bereiten Proben manuell oder mittels Liquid Handling Plattformen für die DNA-Sequenzierungen mittels NGS vor
  • Sie führen NGS Sequenzierungen und PCR Analytik auf diesem Probenmaterial durch
  • Sie führen Qualitätskontrollen und Validierungen von Laborverfahren, Instrumenten und Reagenzien durch
  • Sie halten Qualitätsstandards ein und tragen zur kontinuierlichen Weiterentwicklung des Qualitätsmanagementsystems bei
  • Sie analysieren und berichten Testergebnisse an das Labormanagement

Ihr Profil…

  • Abgeschlossene BMA oder MTA Ausbildung. Weiters kommt ein
    naturwissenschaftliches Studium bis Master/Diplom Abschluss in Frage.
  • Mehrjährige praktische Erfahrung im molekular- und mikrobiologischen
    Arbeiten sind eine Voraussetzung
  • Laborerfahrung im klinischen Umfeld, insbesondere einem akkreditierten
  • Diagnostiklabor sowie mit PCR und vor allem NGS Technologie ist von
    Vorteil
  • Gute MS-Office Kenntnisse, vor allem PowerPoint und Excel
  • Selbstständigkeit, Eigenverantwortung, und Organisationsfähigkeit
  • Teamfähigkeit, Sorgfältigkeit und Einsatzfreude
  • Gute Englischkenntnisse sind von Vorteil

Gehaltspaket für diese Position bei Vollzeitbeschäftigung bei brutto € 22.320,00/
Jahr beginnt. Unsere Gehälter orientieren sich jedoch an marktgerechten
Gehältern in Abhängigkeit von Ihrer fachlichen Kompetenz und können deutlich
höher sein.

Molecular Diagnostics Expert (m/f/d)

for a staff function role in unlimited full-time employment. The position reports to the Managing Director.

What we expect from you…

In your role as Molecular Diagnostics Expert, you will drive our NGS-based infectious disease development program and manage multidisciplinary international R&D and commercialization projects multiple internal and external contributors and stakeholders including clinicians, infectious disease specialists, microbiologists, bioinformaticians, software developers, and pharma and diagnostics industry partners.

Your responsibilities…
• Conceptualize diagnostic test concept and specific assays based on clinical need and diagnostic market analysis.
• Requirement engineering for novel diagnostic tests
• Plan and implement diagnostic assay and workflow development projects in    collaboration the scientific and technical laboratory staff as well as bioinformaticians and software developers
• Liaise with Key Opinion Leaders in Infectious Disease Diagnostics and NGS.
• Lead, drive and deliver expected results according to agreed project scope, cost, quality and timeline milestones.

What you bring with you…
• Doctoral degree, PhD and/or MD or equivalent with expertise in Molecular Diagnostics
• Experience in diagnostic test development utilizing PCR, qPCR, RTPCR, NGS and other advanced molecular testing technology required.
• Ability to manage multiple diagnostics development projects internally as well as with industry partners
• Solid knowledge of regulatory environment in diagnostics
• Knowledge and understanding of the trends and forces shaping the infectious disease diagnostics, the healthcare delivery system, the provision of care and infectious disease management.
• Effective presentation and technical writing skills
• Business-fluent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Laboratory Quality & Regulatory Manager (QA/RA) (m/f/d)

for a staff function role in full-time employment at ARES in Vienna.
In your role as Laboratory QA/RA Manager you will lead quality operation for a NGS service laboratory in the field of infectious disease diagnostics.

Your responsibilities…
• Establishment and maintenance of the laboratory’s quality management system in compliance with ISO 15189 and EU-IVD-R
• Partner with the Head of Laboratory in the development and implementation of departmental policies, SOPs and WIs
• Plan, coordinate, and direct the quality operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure accurate, quality-driven services are provided to assist clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with severe infections
• Develop and implement regulatory strategies for the laboratory’s human diagnostic services
• Plan and implement regular quality trainings and competence evaluation of new and current laboratory personnel
• At a later stage, evolve the company’s quality system to comply with EU-IVD-R, ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR part 820 for IVD development and develop and implement regulatory strategies for the company’s IVD products for the EU and US market.

What you bring with you…
• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory and IVD-related regulatory requirements (ISO 15189, ISO 13485, EU-IVD-R, FDA 21 CFR part 820).
• Demonstrated knowledge of current technical, quality control, and quality assurance procedures and laboratory information systems.
• Thorough knowledge of Quality Management and Performance Improvement principles and tools.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Thorough knowledge and use of appropriate computer applications to perform duties efficiently.
• Ability to meet changing conditions and utilize critical thinking skills to analyze and interpret data.
• Business-fluent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German is an advantage, but not a requirement.

What we expect from you…
In your role as Head of NGS Laboratory you will establish and lead a diagnostic laboratory with the objective to design, execute and report on clinical service projects and patient testing in the field of NGS based infectious disease diagnostics. In addition, you will be responsible for continuous assay development, improvement and validation, ensuring that state of the art methodology is employed to meet high quality expectations of customers.

Your responsibilities…
• Set-up and lead an NGS service laboratory for infectious disease diagnostics
• Lead laboratory operation and technical implementation of development programs
• Partner with quality management to develop, implement and maintain SOPs and appropriate QC and QA programs
• Collaborate with Bioinformatics team to design, optimize, and automate QC and data review and reporting interfaces
• Design and execute internal as well as partnered research, assay development, and validation studies
What you bring with you…
• MD or PhD with clinical laboratory experience
• Expertise in NGS and Molecular Biology, RT-PCR qPCR, Sequencing and related work
• Experienced with leading teams and project in the areas of method development, experimental design, sample analysis, reporting and quality.
• Solid knowledge of relevant quality and regulatory requirements, such as ISO 15189, ISO 13485, EU-IVD-R, FDA 21 CFR 820.
• Proven technical troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
• Ability to implement quality standards and process improvements
• Excellent leadership, human relations and communication skills
• Proven ability to cope with a dynamic work environment
• Business-fluent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German is an advantage, but not a requirement.
